When they entered service in 1960, the prestigious 6-car Pullman DEMUs broke new ground in long-distance business commuting to London. They were the predecessor of the InterCity 125 and their influence still resonates in the operating methods of fixed formation diesel units today. 50 years after the Class 251 units received their striking reversed version of the corporate BR blue and grey livery on the Western Region, Bachmann are bringing them back to life as part of their OO scale Western Pullman Ultima Sound Fitted Train Set, featuring directional, cab and interior lighting – including working table lamps.
Bachmann's model of the Western Pullman is an innovator too, with two SOUND FITTED power cars incorporating a sophisticated audio system, allowing a range of operational and auxiliary sounds to be played by each power car to bring true authenticity to your model railway & making this train set not only one of the biggest but also the most technologically advanced that we have produced to date!
