LokSound Fx dcc decoders provide function control for lighting effects, and in some cases they even provide sound output, just like their full featured siblings loksound and lokpilot but lokfunction decoders do not posess any capability to control a dc motor.
They are perfect for use in "dummy", non-powered locomotives and rolling stock like passenger cars and cabeese where it is desirable to have lots of lights to turn on and off, to have diesel engine or generator sounds, but where there is no need to provide power or speed control to operate a dc motor.
