CV4 set to 100 for coasting use F2 to slow loco with the brakes
F2 Brake key
When closing the throttle the loco will coast and decelerate very slowly. To slow the train press F2 and the brakes actually work speeding up how fast the loco slows down just like a real brake control in the cab.
F21 Shed Shuffle
To provide some basic automation whilst the loco is parked this sound project incorporates the “shed shuffle” function. Use F21 to turn shed shuffle on, the loco will wait a minute before moving against the current set direction, it will then wait a further minute before moving back in the opposite direction.
Both forward and reverse movements can be fine tuned with CV’s 987 forwards & 988 backwards, by adjusting the time spent driving when up to speed. The wait time between movements can be changed with CV986 (value = seconds).
F24 Auto Wagons Buffering
If the key is engaged, and the Light Engine Mode (F key 14) is not engaged, sounds will operate in the following automated way:
Loco moves off/accelerates gently. The sounds are not played.
Loco moves off/accelerates more rapidly. The sound of the couplings taking up slack as the train stretches plays. This is also the case if the loco accelerates further when already moving.
Loco decelerates gently. The sounds are not played.
Loco decelerates more rapidly. The sound of several wagons buffering up is played each time.
Loco comes to a halt with the Brake Key (F key 2) engaged. The sound of several wagons buffering up is played after it comes to a halt.
F26 Protodrive Plus Fireman Mode
If you wish to use this feature, please take the time to read and understand this explanation.
This mode is designed to give a realistic feel to operating your model, as if you were on the footplate of the real thing.
Firstly, you will need to maintain steam pressure by shoveling coal or using the injectors. If this isn’t done within 3 minutes, top speed will be reduced. If used, full pressure is restored, and the model can continue at full speed - the cycle repeats. If the loco still hasn’t had its pressure restored it will continue at the limited speed for another minute, blower included this time, if pressure is restored then the cycle will repeat and the model can continue at full speed, if not, it will come to halt and wait for approx. 20 seconds before continuing on again, unless speed is set to 0 on the controller. This feature can be disabled at any time by disengaging F26 or by bringing the loco to a stop.
